Little Man Haircut

Oliver had his second haircut over the Labor Day weekend. We decided it was time for a real haircut instead of just trimming around his face and ears.

13 Months Old!

Oliver turned 13 months old on Monday and is into climbing and swimming. He's becoming a little bit of a dare devil around the house!

Ringbearer!

Oliver was the ringbearer for his Aunt Emily's wedding on May 30th. He did a great job and was carried down the aisle by his cousin Eddie. Father's day!

Since Father's day was the day after Oliver's birthday, we decided to just hang out in the morning before heading off to the Meier family reunion in Valley Falls, Kansas later in the day. We took a morning walk down to LaMar's doughnuts where they were giving out a free doughnut to dads (we ended up buying six in addition to the free one Randy got). Oliver seemed to really like cake doughnuts. After eating breakfast we played outside in the backyard.

Oliver's Aunt Emily and Uncle Jeff got him this awesome castle slide for his birthday! He's a little scared of the slide part right now but loves the steering wheel.

While we were outside, Randy noticed a hawk in the neighbors tree. After closer inspection, we saw two hawks searching for food. So Randy grabbed a big 'hawk stick' just incase we needed to fend it off from eating us or our child, and then we watched the hawks as we crouched by our fence.

All in all it was a great day!

First Birthday!

Here are a few pictures of the birthday boy! We had a party with our Davoren and Schumacher extended family and then celebrated again the next day at the Meier family reunion. Being the novice parents we are and having to deal with loads of people on the first birthday, we didn't end up taking a lot of pictures ourselves.

For birthdays in our house the birthday person gets to choose what they want for dinner and get to celebrate a birthday week leading up to the big day. During his birthday week we took walks everyday and for his birthday dinner he wanted a cheeseburger happy meal from McDonalds!

First Haircut!

Since I haven't posted anything in a while, I am going to try to catch up on what's been going on this summer. Oliver had his first haircut on May 29th in preparation for his ringbearer duties in his Aunt Emily's wedding. Here are some pictures of the big event!

On Sunday we went to a Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Shawnee. There was one old cop car whose siren sounded like a tornado siren. Oliver didn't like it at all. Other than that he seemed to like being outside and watching the parade.
